Scott Wylie, Director

is the Director of the Vanderburgh Community Foundation, which provides philanthropic services to the greater Evansville area.  An attorney by training, he is a nationally recognized speaker and commentator on nonprofit governance issues, charitable giving, and attorney pro bono efforts.  Before joining the Foundation staff in 2011, he served as a Plan Administrator with the Volunteer Lawyer Program of Southwestern Indiana and as the Family Court Coordinator for the Vanderburgh County Courts.

Although a native of Carmi Illinois, Mr. Wylie spent nearly two decades in Southern California where he served as the Associate Dean of External Affairs and held the John FitzRandolph Director of Clinic Education Chair at Whittier College School of Law.  This work was preceded by a seven year stint as Executive Director of the Public Law Center in Orange County California, one of the largest attorney pro bono programs in the nation.  In 2002, Mr. Wylie served as Vice-President of the State Bar of California, the largest mandatory bar association in the nation and he served as President of its charitable foundation until December of 2008.  He is active as a peer consultant and frequent lecturer with the American Bar Association and serves as an officer with the Evansville Bar Association.

Mr. Wylie serves on the Board of Directors of a variety of charities, including Lampion Center, the Legal Aid Society of Evansville, and the USI/Historic New Harmony Foundation.  He received his undergraduate degree and juris doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and now lives in Evansville.

Carol Pace, Program Officer
As Program Officer, Carol is responsible for all activities of the Foundation related to grantmaking, including the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship program. Originally from North Carolina, Carol served as the Donor Relations and Communications Manager for the Community Foundation Alliance before joining the VCF team.

 

 

 

 

Sendy Mohamad, Intern
Sendy is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is a senior at University of Evansville majoring in Marketing and Communications.  As our Marketing Intern, she is responsible for producing various marketing materials and performing general administrative duties.
