Spirit . . . The Main Event!

In recent years, the Vanderburgh Community Foundation has partnered with other local nonprofit organizations to host an annual celebratory event focused on the "Spirit of Giving." The 2010 Spirit of Giving Celebration is a a community picnic (rain or shine), complete with homemade ice-cream!  It will be held in partnership with the Carver Community Organization on Thursday, September 16, 2010, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the C.K. Newsome Center located at 100 East Walnut Street. Register to attend online!

Partnering with organizations like the Carver Community Organization provides an excellent opportunity for people to learn more about the partner organization while providing unique venues for the event from year to year.  Local community, business, and government leaders set the example of service and the Spirit of Giving as "celebrity servers" for the lunch. Support the 2010 Spirit of Giving Celebration!

In 2010, the Vanderburgh Community Foundation will use proceeds from the Spirit of Giving event to host a special grant cycle with that coincides with the Foundation's commitment to Breaking the Cycle of Poverty.
