Asset Development Plan


I. Professional Advisors - Andy Nestrick, chair

Description:  Develop a plan to raise awareness about the VCF among professional financial advisors as they work with their clients.  The plan should include general marketing efforts, in addition to personal contact and relationship building.


Board Involvement:  Chair needed to recruit and convene committee to develop and implement the plan.  Committee may be comprised of both board and non-board members.

 

II. Board Commitment - Jingle Hagey and Jef Franklin, co-chairs

Description:  Increase the number of current and past board members who have included the VCF in their estate plans.  Identify those who have included VCF and formalize the fund agreements that will eventually receive funding through the estate.


Board Involvement:  Perhaps 1 or 2 people to spearhead this activity

 

III. Current Donors - Karen LeMond and Diane Clements, co-chairs

Description:  Improve relationships and increase contact with current donors and fund founders.  May include written communication, appreciation events, and one-on-one meetings or lunches with current board members and staff.


Board Involvement:  Initial small group to develop a plan.  Possibly greater numbers involved in meetings with donors.

 

IV. Begin Giving Circles - Lisa Jones and Scott Wylie, co-chairs

Description:  Begin Field-of-Interest or Scholarship funds that have a broad community appeal.  Identify community leaders to chair a steering committee to launch the fund.  Develop a plan of communication with donors and potential donors about the new fund(s).


Board Involvement:  Chair or co-chairs to lead a committee of board and non-board members to develop the plan and identify and recruit leaders for the steering committee.
