David A. Koehler Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Photo KoehlerDavid Koehler Sr. was raised in Evansville and graduated from the old Central High School.  After graduating from the University of Evansville, Mr. Koehler landed back at Central, where he taught government and social studies for 31 years.  He devoted his life to education, government and public service.

His wife, Peggy Koehler, says "Teaching wasn't just an occupation to David, but an opportunity to grow young minds and help educate leaders for the future."

After Koehler's death in 1993, his family established the David A. Koehler Sr. Memorial Scholarship to honor his commitment to Central High School and his dedication to service-oriented high school seniors. Undoubtedly, would be quite proud of the generosity of his wife and children as they help young people pursue their goals.
